connecting diverse classrooms

To deepen our impact, we established The KIND Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to foster kinder and more empathetic communities.

Empatico

With seed funding from The KIND Foundation, Empatico is a multi-year $20 million initiative that aims to create meaningful interactions among diverse peers. To do this, Empatico went straight to the place where children spend most of their time – the classroom.

Empatico is a free tool for educators to connect their classroom with others around the world, empowering students to spark curiosity, kindness and empathy. Through video interactions and activities, Empatico helps to foster meaningful connections among students ages 6-11.

Educators in over 145 countries are already using the program, and Empatico aims to connect more than one million students. Hear about Empatico directly from students.

How it all started

As the son of a Holocaust survivor and a Mexican immigrant, KIND founder Daniel Lubetzky has always been committed to building bridges between people so that we can discover our shared humanity. That sense of purpose is at the heart of Empatico and all of the KIND Foundation’s programs since its founding in 2016. Read more about our founder here and the Foundation here.
